During this cost of living crisis we are having to cut back more than ever and that includes on the essentials. Below is a list of links to various posts on the blog which will signpost you to various other posts and help for bills and how you might be able to get help with your finances.
Seek help if you think you will fall into debt
There may be access to hardship funds and grants from various organisations such as your energy supplier. You may also be able to get 60 days’ space from creditors to focus on getting debt advice and setting up a debt solution.
You can also get debt advice from Citizens Advice, StepChange and National Debtline.
Go to Turn2Us who provide information and advice on what help is available including charities that will help you pay your bills.

Check to see if you are entitled to benefits or grants
According to Policy in Practice research £19 billion of support goes unclaimed each year. Use a benefits calculator (it’s anonymous) to see if you can get any benefits.

Check your local council for grants. Some provide means-tested school uniform grants for low income families for example and other grants may be available.
