Lucy Jeffrey founder of Bare Kind
Lucy Jeffrey is the founder of Bare Kind. She is 28 years old and lives in London. Lucy started her company in 2018 when she decided she didn’t want her corporate bank job to be her lasting legacy to to world. Since incorporating the company, Lucy has grown Bare Kind to what you are seeing today – bamboo socks that save the lives of endangered animals all around the world!
10% of the profits are donated to help save the animal on the sock, so each pair is linked to an animal conservation charity. Lucy quit her bank job at the end of 2020 to run Bare Kind full time, and hasn’t looked back. The aim is to have the largest range of animal socks in the world, all contributing to save the species on the sock.
Bare Kind has grown from strength to strength over the years, as consumers are turning their heads towards independent companies who are working on having a positive impact on the world.
In 2022 Lucy won UEA’s Innovation and Impact Award for Graduate Enterprise.
In September 2021 Bare Kind took on £50,000 in investment from the University of East Anglia’s Enterprise fund.
David Attenborough has Bare Kind socks! In 2022 Lucy sent Sir David Attenborough a few pairs of their socks and he sent her a hand written note to thank her.
Bare Kind socks have also been featured on The Strictly Come Dancing final when the winner (Hamza Yassin, wildlife photographer) wore the Orangutan socks in training.
