Radical Recruit and profit-for-good, B-Radical Founder and CEO Emma Freivogel

White woman in late 20s wavy blond hair smiling head shot yellow background black v neck top.Emma is the co-founder of UK charity, Radical Recruit and profit-for-good, B-Radical. She has brought together a community of likeminded people from disparate backgrounds, to champion the business and ethical case for change to the way businesses source, recruit, and develop hidden talent. Founded in October 2019, Radical has placed over 700 Radicals into jobs that they love. During this time, she and her teams have also worked with hundreds of brands: helping businesses reimagine their traditional candidate attraction and engagement methods, run fairer more equitable recruitment processes, recruit Radical people, and support them to flourish in their chosen careers post-placement.

Since its founding five years ago, Radical Recruit has achieved nearly 700 transformative placements, offering individuals from underserved backgrounds a path to sustainable employment. With a 90% in-work sustainability rate at six months and an average starting salary of £27,500!

Radical was inspired by the story of Chan, a young woman who rebuilt her life after a conviction, sparking the charity’s mission to break down barriers and create opportunities for those who need them most.

Emma says ‘I began Radical because I believe it is time to boldly and unapologetically challenge the status quo. It is time to redress the imbalance of opportunity afforded to those labelled; ‘care leaver’, ‘disabled’, ‘gang member’, ‘black’, ‘uneducated’, ‘inexperienced’, ‘homeless’, ‘criminal’, or generally, just ‘not ‘good enough’. It is time to call out businesses who talk a big game when it comes to their commitment to equality but whose policies fail to translate into practice. I am RADICAL.”
