Ellora Coupe founder of Her Own Space
Ellora is a project manager and interior designer. She has always helped women navigate a male-dominated industry so that they gain the confidence and knowledge to manage home renovations.
Her father was a builder, renovating houses for over 35yrs in London. So she grew up on building sites and moved house many times. She trained as a Design Manager and Interior Design. Specialising in a residential renovation she worked in London running her own company for 7 years.
She spent most of her days growing up lost in her imagination and although shy, somehow found confidence working on building sites every summer. Whether it was making tea, sanding doors or tiling bathrooms, the joy of watching homes transformed was hugely rewarding. However, it was watching her father support the clients, create a great loyal team, and organise projects that she admired so much. It was probably inevitable she would continue the work!
Why Did Ellora set up “HER OWN SPACE”?
Ellora realised recently, that what was familiar to her, was the most daunting undertaking for women. She was frequently asked by female friends, always in panic, for advice and she realised how hard it was for them to navigate a home renovation. They were all extremely confident and capable women, but the thought of navigating personal budgets, tracking deadlines, trusting tradespeople, was not clear cut. Basically, no one in the building trade has made it their mission to put women’s success at the heart of their business, let alone empower them with the right support.
That’s where Ellora comes in.
She launched Her Own Space, to meet the needs of women today in the renovation space, was launched.
